Saturday Solver Privacy

Updated October 25, 2026. Saturday Solver is Rich Ward’s personal project, independent of the City of Aberdeen.

Guest play

You can play without an account. Guest guesses remain in your browser session, or on your device if you choose “Remember my guesses on this device.” You can clear those guesses in the game’s settings.

Optional Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, Google provides your basic account identity, including your name, email address and account identifier. Supabase handles authentication and stores your account, saved guesses and email preference. The site is hosted on Vercel. Authentication uses browser storage to keep you signed in. Saturday Solver does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive or contacts.

Saved results

Your account can save guesses for released episodes across devices. Each signed-in visitor can access their own results. Rich’s authorized admin account can preview future puzzles; previewing does not change the public release schedule. You can delete cloud results with “Delete my cloud results.”

Separate email permission

Signing in does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Email permission defaults off and is stored separately from results, together with the permission wording and update time. Rich can manage these permissions through the private database dashboard. The newsletter is not running yet. You can turn permission off in your account; any future newsletter will include an unsubscribe link. We do not sell your email or automatically add it to unrelated lists.

Retention and requests

Account information, saved guesses and preferences remain until you delete available records or request account deletion. To ask about your data, withdraw permission or request account deletion, contact Rich at his Facebook page. Requests are handled through the private service dashboards.

Service providers

Google, Supabase and Vercel process information needed to provide sign-in, storage and hosting under their own privacy policies. Routine technical request information may be processed by these providers to operate and protect the services.
